The quality of technical education and vocational training has proven to be the heart in setting up accreditation commission. During the Asia pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APACC) 2004, heads of member governments commit themselves to further the development of quality in the national and regional levels. They forged the Seoul Declaration which gave birth to a regional accrediting agency tasked to perform among others the training of her accreditors.
The competence of accreditors underpins the credibility of the accreditation process. It is thus essential for aspiring evaluators, in addition to possessing the required professional knowledge and experience to be adequately trained in the accreditation standards and evaluation techniques. The purpose of this program is to provide the details in the conduct of accreditation as well as demeanor of the accreditor in performing accreditation activities.
The topics considered for discussion elucidated the following: (1) role of CPSC in regional accreditation; (2) analysis of contexts and needs; (3) concepts and approaches; (4) development of an institutional accreditation framework; (5) processes and procedures; and (6) CPSC experience on International Accreditation Based on ISO Certification.
