Message from the CPSC Director General

Dear Participants,

Congratulations on your participation to this In-Country Program!

This In-Country Program on “Accreditation and Certification: Needs and Implications” is value-laden with substantial concepts and practical understanding of the needs and benefits of accreditation and certification in the area of Technical Education and Vocational Training (TEVT).

As in inter-governmental organization certified for its own international quality standards in TEVT, CPSC is in a strategic position to influence excellence through quality systems and international standards as means of measuring quality by self and external evaluation of institutions and programs.

Recent trends focus on pedagogical efforts to usher a culture of quality. TEVT institutions in CPSC’s 19 member countries will be linked by same standards of quality in its curricula and systems. This In-Country Program will initiate a better understanding of the use of accreditation and certification methods and practices as main tools for achieving quality culture.

The reality and perception of quality drives institutions and their programs to extend beyond their scope. At the helm of regional leadership in Human Resources Development in Asia and the Pacific Region, CPSC is determined to ensure that its network of TEVT institutions are bound by highly reliable quality systems and that institutions are competent to produce a regional workforce that can sustain and access the requirements of the labor market.

I wish you all a very productive In-Country Program in Bhopal, India.

Sincerely yours,

Dr. Man-Gon Park
Director General & CEO
